With significant leadership changes, including Tharman Shanmugaratnam’s presidential victory and Lawrence Wong’s appointment as the 4th Prime Minister, the survey reveals strong confidence in the government. An impressive 87% of Singaporeans trust their leaders to navigate geopolitical tensions, while 83% are confident in the next generation of leaders. Integrity (52%), accountability (43%), and vision (37%) are the top qualities desired in national leaders. Gen Z values accountability, integrity, and communication skills, while older generations prioritize integrity.

Singaporeans Want Inflation Addressed

Despite a core inflation rate of 2.4% in June, Singaporeans seek further measures to manage living costs, address the aging population, and create workforce opportunities. Diversity, equality, and inclusion are especially important to Gen Z, who advocate for increased freedom of speech (37%) and LGBTQ+ rights (28%), surpassing the national averages.

Singapore’s Favourite NDP Songs Revealed

From a range of NDP songs, “In A Heartbeat” (2011) is the favorite among those aged 16-24. The 25-34 age group prefers “Home” (2004) and “Where I Belong” (2001). Overall, “Home” is the top pick for 50% of Singaporeans, followed by “Where I Belong” (22%).

In the culinary realm, Chilli Crab emerges as a top contender for Singapore’s national dish, favored by 34% of respondents, with a notable preference among women (40%). Hainanese Chicken Rice is also popular, chosen by 22% as the national dish and craved by 21% when abroad.

94% are Proud to be Singaporean

National pride runs high, with 94% of Singaporeans resonating with the statement “I am proud to be Singaporean.” This sentiment is particularly strong among those aged 45 and above, with 33% strongly agreeing. Additionally, 94% feel a sense of familiarity when encountering fellow Singaporeans abroad.
