PAL 10th top PH brand in Southeast Asia survey

PHILIPPINE Airlines (PAL) landed at 10th among the top brands in the country base on a survey covering Southeast Asia.

The flag carrier was among the top 50 consumer brands in the Philippines in the poll, which was conducted by Marketing Communications firms Campaign360 and Milieu Insight.

Over 10,000 online interviews were conducted in the Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam combined, tracking more than 1,200 brands from 11 sectors.

Brands were ranked on nine key attributes: awareness, purchase, quality, buying experience, customer service, trustworthiness, innovation, brand touchpoints (ease of use across all digital and offline brand interactions) and advocacy (degree of recommendation).

The top 10 brands in the Philippines were Samsung, Shopee, Jollibee, Watsons, GCash, Lazada, McDonald's, Netflix, Apple and PAL.

"We are elated by this recognition as one of Southeast Asia's most loved brands. We are inspired to work even harder and serve even better," PAL President and Chief Operating Officer Stanley Ng said.

"We value the survey insights as these will guide us in sustaining the 'wins' and enhancing specific brand attributes. We are grateful to our workforce for their drive toward service excellence, and to our customers for their loyalty and support," the PAL executive added.

PAL is the country's only full-service legacy carrier serving 33 international and 32 domestic destinations. It is currently in its 83rd year of operations.

PAL operator PAL Holdings Inc. saw its shares fall by 10 centavos, or 1.82 percent, to P5.40 on Friday amid a 2.93-percent plunge for the benchmark Philippine Stock Exchange index.
