What is Milieu?
At its heart, Milieu is an opinion platform that conducts fun surveys across varied topics such as lifestyle, current affairs, media and brand consumption. The Milieu community is free for anyone above 16 years old to join. Milieu is currently only available in Singapore and Thailand.
I'm not in Singapore or Thailand. Can I still use Milieu?
Unfortunately, Milieu is not available in countries other than Singapore or Thailand. If we discover that you are using Milieu Surveys in a country that we don't operate in, we reserve the right to terminate your account without any notice.
How does Milieu work?
Take easy surveys in exchange for attractive rewards (cash, vouchers and charity donations). Surveys take 3-7 minutes on average and do not last beyond 10 minutes, offering you the most effortless paid survey experience.
Through our Community Opinions feature, you can also vote and browse trending polls relating to current affairs, pop culture, lifestyle and relationship.
Do I have to buy or subscribe to anything?
No. Milieu appreciates your time and effort taken to participate in our surveys and will never ask you to buy or subscribe to anything.
…then, how does Milieu earn money?
That said, Milieu conducts surveys for a diverse group of clients (including marketing agencies, consumer-facing brands and public affairs groups) in order to help them better understand public opinions on consumer traits, product consumption and brand relationships.
Milieu is a non-partisan organisation. We will never try to influence your opinions (except about how awesome we are), but simply measure them through our surveys.
What are your operating hours?
We are ready to mingle on weekdays from 10am to 6pm.
Who is eligible to join Milieu?
Registration for a Milieu account is free and is for anyone above 16 years old, residing in Singapore or Thailand. Download our app from the App Store or Google Play today!
How do I reset my user details or password?
Simply go to Settings and click Edit Profile or Edit Demographic Details. Follow the instructions to change your details and click save.
Your email address used to create your Milieu account cannot be changed. If you wish to change your email login, please contact us via live chat (in app or on our website) or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Help, I can’t log into my account!
If you forgot your password, simply click ‘I Forgot’ and a confirmation email will be sent to you to reset your password. If you correctly filled in your login details but continue experiencing problems, please contact us via live chat or email us at email@example.com. In your message, please include:
- Your email address registered with Milieu
- A screenshot of the error message you receive
How do I leave the Milieu community?
You can choose to break our hearts by deleting the Milieu app from your phone. We’d be extremely sad to see you go.
Do drop us a message via live chat or email so that we know what we did wrong and how we can improve. It’s been a good ride, and we hope to see you again.
How am I informed about new surveys?
We are glad you’re enjoying them!
You will receive notifications or emails when we have new surveys or promotions (where you get point boosters for every question taken).
I don’t have any surveys to participate in!
Have you not been receiving new surveys? Try the classic trick of logging in and out of your account. If that doesn’t work, it may be that we have already reached the number of respondents we need, or you have finished all the surveys available to you.
Hang tight and more surveys will be available for you to participate in shortly. New surveys are uploaded 2 times a week so you should expect to receive surveys at that frequency. Nothing to worry about!

An attention check question is a purely factual question designed to make sure that you're paying attention. An example of this is:

As Milieu Surveys seeks to maintain the extremely high quality of our data, It is important that you answer these questions correctly as failing these questions will trigger a suspension of your account.
I failed an attention check question! Now what?
You should have received an email informing you that you failed an attention check question. We understand that mistakes happen and this email is just to notify you so that you can be more careful when taking surveys in the future!
I failed too many attention check questions and my account is suspended! Help!
Oh no! If you continue to fail attention check questions, your account will be automatically suspended and although you may continue using our app and answering fun polls, you will not receive any more surveys. If you think this was a mistake, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org and we MAY review your account suspension.
Account suspensions are only reviewed on a case by case basis and we reserve the right to NOT re-activate your account or respond to rude requests. Be nice!
How does Milieu’s points system work?
Earn points by taking surveys, and use them to redeem actual rewards! The length of each survey determines the amount of points you earn. The maximum amount of points up for grabs will be shown at the start of every survey, while your actual points earned will be added to your total after each survey.
Your ranking also affects the points you earn (see below).
How does Milieu’s ranking system work?
As good things go together, we reward you for staying with us. Completing more surveys will allow you to be promoted through the ranks of Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum. Each increase in rank allows you to earn more points for every survey taken. For example, a Platinum user earns much more points for each survey compared to a Bronze user.
How do I exchange my points to redeem a reward?
Cha-Ching! Simply go to the Redemption section, select the reward and quantity you desire, and hit that claim button. Fill in the required details and you are all set. Once successful, you will be led to a confirmation screen and also receive a confirmation email.
Check our Redemption section to find the points required for each type of reward. You will not be able to claim the reward if you have insufficient points. Unfortunately, we don’t accept bribes (not even in the form of donuts).
What rewards can I redeem with my points?
We have gone the extra mile to offer something for everyone. Rewards may include:
- Cash (sent via PayPal, PayNow or GrabPay)
- E-Vouchers/Print Vouchers (including Cold Storage, Guardian, Giant, 7-11, etc.)
- Charity donations (to UNICEF and Singapore Children’s Society)
Rewards offered are subject to availability and may vary from time to time.
How do I set up e-payment accounts to receive rewards?

How long does it take for rewards to be credited?
Our minions process reward requests every Friday noon and we will disburse them the following week! Please allow up to 10 working days for the reward to be successfully sent.
To ensure that you receive your reward as quickly as possible, please provide accurate information when filling in your details during the claim process. We will ask for the following information.
How do charity donations work?
Thanks for making a difference to the world! When you make a donation claim on the app, you will be guided to send an email to us to confirm your claim. Don’t worry, this is just to ensure that we remain accountable to our charity partners.
We will then confirm your request, and your points will be deducted to reflect your new total within 1 working day. Please do not claim any additional rewards until we have processed your charity donation to avoid confusion!
Do the points expire?
No, points last for a lifetime (even after the Internet stops existing).
FRIEND REFERRAL SCHEME
Be that friend who always shares the good stuff (while earning from it)! Our friend referral scheme allows you to earn $1 for every friend you refer.
Simply share your unique code (found under Refer a Friend in Settings) with your friends. They can then enter your unique code when they create an account with us. Once they complete 7 surveys, we will credit you 1000 points (equivalent of $1) accordingly. You will also receive a confirmation email.

Will my information remain confidential?
We take user privacy seriously. Even our co-founders have no access to the individual choices you answered in every survey. We will also never reveal your identity, and only share with clients aggregated data (for example, “80% of consumers would love to have more online shopping options”). Your personal information is strictly protected in compliance with ESOMAR standards and local data protection laws.
Do I have to fill in my demographics?
We respect your privacy, and providing your personal information is entirely optional. However, we will never disclose such information and it is simply used to ensure we can send you the right surveys faster!
